7 Days to Die V3.0 "Dead Hot Summer" – Everything New
Version 3.0 "Dead Hot Summer" arrived on 29 June 2026 and is one of the biggest updates 7 Days to Die has had: a full sandbox system, weapons that roll random magnitude bonuses, a new Combine Station, more than 60 new POIs and a lot more. Here is what changed – and what the follow-up versions added.
Sandbox options and presets
V3.0 adds a sandbox layer with more than 150 options – zombies, players, the world, resources, crafting, traders and quests can all be tuned. Settings can be saved and shared as presets, and the game ships with official presets, among them:
- Undead Matinee – old-movie style with slower zombies
- Madmole's Mayhem – fewer supplies and harsher penalties
- Bite Club – permadeath
- Legacy Survival, 7 Days Later, Caveman's Life, Dumpster Diver, Dying World, Disaster Film, Almost Creative Mode and Chibi Mode
For server owners this is a breaking change: a single SandboxCode replaces a long list of old serverconfig.xml properties, so server configs had to be migrated.
Item magnitude
Weapons and tools can now drop with magnitude – boosted stats on top of their quality. An item with magnitude is marked with an orange star and a teal percentage. Think of it as rolling a better version of the same gun: a shotgun with extra range, a machete with more damage. Read more in our magnitude and Combine Station guide.
The Combine Station
The new Combine Station workstation merges similar items to push their magnitude up step by step. Duplicate loot finally has a use: instead of selling the third copy of a weapon, you feed it into the one you use.
60+ new POIs and Sign-Tech
More than 60 new points of interest – bunkers, factories, farms and more, most of them tier 4, plus new tier 5 locations. Alongside them comes Sign-Tech, an overhaul of in-world signs and decals that makes towns look far more alive.
New gear and quality-of-life
- A new M60 turret that uses 7.62 ammo
- A redesigned main menu
- A customisable crosshair – scale, opacity and colour
V3.1 "Henpocalypse" and later versions
- V3.1 (July 2026) added chicken farming with a Chicken Coop workstation and chicken recipes, plus more sandbox options – spawn density and respawn settings are now split between day and night and between enemies and animals.
- V3.2 (August 2026) and V3.3 continued with fixes and balance changes.
